Abstract
Wanderlust looks for stillness inside motion. In cities that script every minute, I wanted to step off the path and pause, not to arrive, but to simply be.
Story
In the summer of 2023, I wandered through the cities of New York and Boston, with no maps and no destination in mind. I paused on each corner until the city stopped asking me to hurry. In those pauses, I noticed every fine detail: a crossroad breath, shadows slipping between buildings, the instant when noise and silence overlapped. We are often taught to live by goals, working hard to achieve them. Wanderlust breaks from that rhythm, choosing stillness within motion and valuing the journey over the destination.
Process
Photographed using a Fujifilm camera and phone. I purposely framed intervals in ordinary places with no particular landmarks, allowing myself to simply be in the moment, an escape from constant motion.
